Don’t ask me why, but today I started practicing digital painting, I was trying a few tips that I found on internet…
Then I tried to use some brushes like te guy was working with in this video. And I found that my Photoshop didn’t care of my pencil pressure… I tried to delete and reinstall the drivers, but if the driver was too recent my PC wasn’t recognizing my tablet (I don’t know the reason, maybe Wacom is not supporting old tablets in the latest drivers).
So I walked around internet to solve my problem for maybe an hour, the strange thing to notice is that was happening only on Ps and not on Ai.
Then in the end I found the solution on the website of the guy I was looking at (Spartan from DigitalPainting.school), here is the support post (FR only, sorry, but I’ll put a traduction!) : https://digitalpainting.school/forums/topic/aide-probleme-de-pression-du-stylet/
The solution that worked for me is the “.txt” file in the Photoshop Settings Confuguration folder :
Add a .txt in the Photoshop files
An other option found on the web and which is mainly working for Wacom tablets : add a .txt file containing only “UseSystemStylus 0” (without the quotes) and name it “PSUserConfig”. Then place it in the following folder :
- For Windows : C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015\Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 Settings (Or select your Photoshop Version if it’s an other one)
- For Mac : Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 Settings
Remark : And don’t forget … If you customize your brush by yourself, check these two little fellas :
A : To make the Opacity sticking to the pencil pressure
B : To make the brush size sticking to the pencil pressure
